GIRAFFES are the tallest living land animals. They have excellent eyesight and since they are so tall they can see very long distances. In fact, they can spot a moving person or another animal from a mile or more away.
This is one of my favorite photos over the two years I spent traveling America photographing Caged Animals. These beautiful and very Romantic Giraffes reside at the Magnificent San Diego Zoo Safari Park, originally named the San Diego Wild Animal Park until 2010. It is an 1,800 acre zoo in the San Pasqual Valley area of San Diego, California, near Escondido. It is one of the largest tourist attractions in San Diego County: https://sdzsafaripark.org/safaris
I was on a "BEHIND-THE-SCENES SAFARI" in a open Caravan being escorted with a small group to a variety of locations around the Park to see animals up close and share stories of wildlife care and conservation.
The Giraffe compound was great because I was able to take this very Romantic photo above, as well as being able to feed the Giraffe up close afterwards!!!
